Palacio de las Garzas (Presidential Palace)
The official seat of Panama's president, named after the herons that live in its courtyard.
The white Palacio de las Garzas on the bay side of Casco Viejo is the seat of Panama's presidency. It takes its name from the herons (garzas) that live in its Moorish-style courtyard.
The palace is a working government building with a security perimeter, so visitors see it from outside. Access to the surrounding streets can be restricted, and it's best not to photograph the guards.
