Plaza Herrera
A quieter square on the west side of Casco Viejo, with an equestrian statue of General Tomás Herrera.
Plaza Herrera sits on the western edge of Casco Viejo, where the restored streets meet the parts of the neighbourhood still being renovated. An equestrian statue of General Tomás Herrera, a 19th-century Panamanian leader, stands in the middle.
The square is calmer than the plazas further east and is surrounded by cafés, restaurants and small hotels.
